Tattoo removal

More about the procedure

Description

Safe and effective treatment of dark and colored tattoos with minimal risk to the skin.
LUÑA Ray uses Q-switched Nd:YAG laser technology to selectively and safely remove tattoos and pigments. The laser emits ultra-short pulses (in nanoseconds) that create a photoacoustic effect and break the ink into microparticles that the body eliminates through the lymphatic system.

What tattoos can be removed?
- Black and dark blue tattoos (1064 nm)
- Color tattoos – red, orange, yellow (532 nm)
- Cosmetic tattoos (eyebrows, lips – with caution)
- Birthmarks and pigmented lesions (in selected cases and with preliminary assessment)

How many procedures are needed?
The number of procedures depends on:
- the color and depth of the ink
- body area
- skin type and the body's immune response

Usually, between 6 and 10 treatments are needed, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

How does the procedure work?

The “freezing” effect is observed – whitening of the area after treatment.

The procedure lasts from 5 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo.

Post-procedure care:
- Applying antibiotic cream (e.g. Neosporin) for 3–5 days
- Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen (SPF 50+)
- Avoid swimming pool, sauna, sports and exposure to moisture for 5–7 days
- Do not pick at the scabs – this increases the risk of scarring

Contraindications:
- Photosensitizing medications
- Active infections in the treatment area
- Tendency to keloids
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- White or light pigments in cosmetic tattoos (Possible adverse effect!)

Important for cosmetic tattoos:
Cosmetic tattoos often use pigments containing white ink. It can oxidize and darken during laser treatment. We always inform the patient about this risk. If the pigment contains titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, the tattoo may temporarily turn gray or greenish.
Tattoo removal with the LUÑA Ray laser is a precise and safe method that allows for gradual and controlled ink removal with minimal risk to the skin.
